"Shenzhen's four departments will take the blockchain information exchange platform as an opportunity to jointly prevent and crack down on various tax-related and criminal activities," said Zhang Guofan, director of the Shenzhen Municipal Taxation Bureau.

Blockchain technology can be applied not only to law enforcement cooperation involving tax-related crimes, but also to the beginning of the blockchain electronic invoices. At present, more than 10 million copies have been issued in Shenzhen.

In August 2018, Shenzhen Taxation Department and Tencent Co., Ltd. cooperated to open the first blockchain electronic invoice, which has been incorporated into more than 7,600 enterprises. The invoice amount exceeds 7 billion yuan, covering hundreds of industries including financial insurance, hotel catering and parking services.

Li Maocai, general manager of the blockchain business of Tencent, said that blockchain electronic invoices can ensure that the whole process of circulation, billing and reimbursement can be traced back and forth; on the other hand, the tax department, the invoice party, the transfer party, and the reimbursement party participate in the bookkeeping together, making the invoice information difficult to tamper with.

According to data from the Shenzhen City Central Branch of the People's Bank of China, in September 2018, since the first phase of the People's Bank of China's trade finance blockchain platform project was officially put into trial operation in Shenzhen, more than 30,000 businesses are available on the chain, more than 5,000 businesses are done on the chain, and the business volume is about 75 billion yuan.
