Bitcoin Futures First Scale above $6000 in Nearly Six Months Amid Nine-Session Rally

Abstract : The most active Bitcoin futures contracts of two major U.S. futures exchanges first closed above $6000 in nearly six months, hitting the highest close since November 13, 2018 in a fifth consecutive session and recording the ninth consecutive surge.

May 10 (ChainDD) On May 9 EST, the most active Bitcoin futures contracts of two major U.S. futures exchanges first closed above $6000 in nearly six months, hitting the highest close since November 13, 2018 in a fifth consecutive session and recording the ninth consecutive surge.

As of May 3, the futures contracts surged more than 11% during the week, after the previous nearly 4% weekly-decline ended the weekly surge in a row of seven weeks. Moreover, the futures have just jumped more than 28% in the whole April, the third monthly surge in a row.

June-delivered Bitcoin futures BTC at CME Group, the largest futures exchange in the world, gained about 2.72% to $6065, climbing about 11.61% last week and about 28.3% in the whole April.

June-delivered Bitcoin futures XBT at Cboe, the largest option exchange in U.S., advanced about 3.15% to $6065, with a weekly surge about 11.13% as of May 3 and rising 28.5% in April.

According to ChainDD’s market tracking indicators, Bitcoin spot price on Binance traded above $6200, up more than 3% over the past 24 hours.
